I'm blown away as well by Jeff Beck's lack of gray hair at his age.....it looks far too natural to be dyed!

Looks like a die job to me. Tal is a wonderful bass player. She should get a RIC.

" Tal " is the latest bass feenom from the Jaco , Wooton, Clark school of bass playing . The perky thing does kick butt ......Jeff Beck is the master ! Those clips sound so good even from behind a flu haze .

Paul,
Tal Wilkenfield is a little Aussie bass dynamo. Despite her diminutive stature, she plays a long scale Sadowsky. Here is a link to an article on her from Bass Player:

She's nice and fluid on this piece and certainly is talented. I like the way the bass sits in this song, a very nice showcase of melodic tone and technique.
I remember playing like this on a couple of auditions many years ago, and on one someone describing my "flowery" playing. I told them find a root boy...
This would probably sound great on a Ric bass with 24 frets, as the upper register would really come through on melody.
Beck sounds and looks just killer!
What a tone and a tune....

We used to play "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" on every gig when I was 16, that was 30 years ago. I used to play with a local guitarist who really loved this tune and played it very well (on his pre-CBS Strat... we knew it was a good guitar but back in the 70's we had no idea about vintage craze). Later on he got a chance to record with Peter Green, but heroin addiction ruined everything, now it's like someone erased his brain. Lovely tune but I think I've heard it too many times.

Nice!
I saw Beck with SRV in 1989 in a little college auditorium. The Fire and the Fury tour!

The thing about Jeff Beck I've always appreciated is that he's not a "shredder" in my mind - yeah there are the occasional fast passage, but more often than not his playing is just plain solid in a musical sense.
That bass playing is fantastic. I'll never be that good, but I don't feel it makes me any less worthy. I can be happy with what I am.
Besides, the plug got pulled on my band, so it looks like I'll be playing acoustic and doing lead vocals in a duo for the foreseeable future. Don't need to worry about my bass playing for a while it seems...
