Seems I may have seen a thread along these lines a few months ago, but I did not find it so am posting here.

I now have a 360/12 AFG back in my hands thanks to a forumite (via ebay). When I had one before I had thought that what it really needed was a gold pickguard and trussrod cover. I am now ready to pursue that. So a couple of questions:

1) Has anyone here put a gold pickguard onto an AFG guitar? If so, where did you get it (pickguardian, I presume) and (the all important question) how did it look?

2) On the TRC, I recall someone spraying it gold himself. Can someone please point me to that thread? Even better, do you know where I might have that done professionally? I have an email in to Pickguardian about that.

Any pics of gold on AFG would be much appreciated as well.

A gold pickguard & TRC look amazing on AFG. Pickguardian is the way to go.

For spraying the TRC, use Dupli-Color's Gold Dust Metallic.

Yes, that was the thread. Thanks. I see again why I wanted to do this! If anyone has done it on a 360 AFG, I'd still like to see some pics of that to see how it looks with the binding.

Good news for me. Pickguardian will paint the TRC for a small fee (under $20). I'd rather entrust it to a pro than do it myself. I ordered the guard and will get that on the be sure it looks good before doing the TRC.

My 660 AFG came with a gold pick guard and truss cover.

660s and 325C58s come standard with gold plastic. Any others? I'm a bit brain-fuzzed today...

I have a gold pickguard on my 4003AFG. Next I will replate the chrome pieces gold. I'm not sure how to handle the TRC.

As others have said, I think your guitar will look gorgeous with the gold plastic pieces. Only AFG I've seen personally with gold was a 660, and it was stunning.

Brian, any chance you've got a pic or two of your 4003AFG with the gold guard. I've got one too that I'm considering it on but I'd really like to see one first. The pickguards are so big on them I thought it might look overwhelming.

The truss cover

Tony at Pickguardian does a fantastic job with the gold TRC to match his pickguards. I had
him do mine about a month ago.
