Ah, great attention to detail, complete with the Nazi eagle decal. I think I'll pass.

It's not a Nazi eagle decal. It's the Motorhead logo. While Lemmy likes the asthetics of WWII German uniforms, he does not endorse the Nazi party. Now if Lemmy put a Swastika on his bass, I'd see your point.

It's based on the Nazi eagle.

The Nazis subverted the German eagle symbol by adding a Swastika - the eagle itself is a German national symbol, which pre-dates Hitler.

That said, there's no denying that Mr Kilminster does like his dodgy historical memorabilia. :?

Jon.

The flat swaztika is actually a simbol of peace. it's only "the bad one" when tilted diagonally like That mother fuhrer did.

While it was used and related to a great atrocity of modern times the Swastika was not a symbol of evil.

Funny how it happens though eh? like, say the Nazi party used a cute white bunny on all it's flags and uniforms, I'm sure we'd feel the same way about bunnies as we do about the swastika today.

Either way, it makes me sick to look at it, and I'm not alone. From too feet it's the Nazi eagle.

This is "officially licensed" it says--no doubt by Lemmy, but I'd bet not by RIC, as the bass' detail is pathetic.

Character figures in this price category should be half personality, half accessory, and although the sculpting on Lemmy's face is mediocre, the bass really got the short end of the stick.

Of course, we could ber talking about one of Lemmy's earlier basses, but then there's the matter of control placement.

Paul,

That Ric is based on one of Lemmy's early ones.

Gotcha; thanks, Sean...does anyone have any closeups of that particular Rick? Is is carved like that or stencilled?

I think it was a carve job done by the guy who gave the bass to him. I was trying to find the thread here which showed his basses over the years. I am also trying to find the thread on the Motorhead site that addressed the topic as well.

To deny Lemmy's use of the Nazi symbol is just silly. While he may not be a supporter of the 3rd Reich, he has always enjoyed their imagery.

It was made by the late Paul Hadwen and give to Lemmy by Phil Campbell.
