Fisher filed his claim to joint ownership nearly 40 years after the song was recorded in 1967.
Ridiculous. There should be a statute of limitations on that.

Common sense prevailed obviously. Since when does an arrangement become the basis of a songwriter credit? If this case had gone the other way in terms of a judgement, imagine what the former pianist and road manager's estate could elicit from the Rolling Stones. Ian Stewart contributed a lot to their sound and their arrangements.

Agreed!!! How did it get to that first level of litigation is beyond me. And I though our court system here in the USA was out of control :twisted:
