RIP Milton

My Mom's cousin, Milton passed away Monday evening. As a sax player, he always encouraged me, whether I was in the high school choir, or as a 45 year old struggling to learn the guitar.

Milton toured in the 50's, 60's and early 70's with a number of big bands, including The Glenn Miller Orchestra. He also a former member of the 3rd Army band. Furthermore, he did the arrangements for Mitch Miller's TV show Sing Along With Mitch (remember the bouncing ball). Together, we emptied quite a number of bottles of Jack Daniels, with me listening to his stories of the road.

More recently, Milton gave private lessons to students at his local public middle & high schools, along with working on some freelance arrangements.

He'll be missed.

Sorry to hear this, Richard. What a touching story. It is great to know there is another saxophone man in heaven. We will need him when we get there for our DC5 covers.

Richard, sounds like Milton was a really nice person, especially the giving of his time to the schools in later years. My condolences to you - have a shot or two of JD in his honor.
