Earth Surfing is the working title of an instrumental surf comp due out toward years end. Paul and I and the boys from NoM are on it along with many fine surf bands. I thought it might be fun to post vids of some of the bands that will be on the cd. The final product will be bands doing a tune in the style of a particular country. First up The Tomorrowmen doing "Chronosurf"

Might be Andrew.....I think that was taken at one of the surf shows at the Hotel Utah in Sa`n Francisco and the usually have a backline set up there...

Another band on the cd will be the Mono Tones here doing a nice version of Lullaby Of The Leaves...camera man is focused of chick playing rhythm...pans over late in the song to the bass player on a Rick!

Yep..that camera guy forgot about the bass player for most of the song Andrew.
Next up is another band who will be on the Earth Surfing cd...Pollo del Mar doing a rather psych/surf tune..pg-13 on this one kids!

Good stuff! This looks like it will be a great collection.

Our turn in the studio last Sunday to record our track for the comp. Ton o fun even without the vodka (our song is surf ala Russian). Renamed...Leningrad Hodad, it features overdubbed Rickenbacker mandolin, tambourine and Cossack vocals Paul, Rick and Joseph were all up for the task and Harry aka Mr Wizard at Route 44 studio worked his magic...more to come....

Paul W is hopefully setting up a video shoot for North of Malibu soon but in the meantime, here's another band that will be on the Earth Surfing comp... The Glasgow Tiki Shakers doing Velvet Surf..very cool moody tune done much in the style of The Aqua Velvets
