Anyone else going to be there? Seeing that I have a business trip to Dallas scheduled the Monday thru Friday after the show, I think I'll head up there a couple of days early. I may even try to unload a couple of guitars and/or amps.

I'll be there. Not sure what day(s). I guess it depends when others are going to be there.

Do you mean to meet them or to avoid them Randy?

Pete: I've got friends to look for and friends to avoid...

I won't be there this year. I prefer the Arlington show. Can't speak for Pete though?

If for some reason my flight to Virginia gets cancelled, I'll likely come up on Saturday to see Yngwie.

I don't have any plans to go this year, I haven't used up all the perfume, sunglasses and handbags that I bought at last years show yet!

Anyone who stayed away from the Dallas Guitar Show missed a lot of exceptional vintage Ricks for sale. I don't think I've seen more rare Ricks at one show. There was a '64 1993 FG, a '64 1997 MG (looked like a refinished FG to me), at least (6) 360 OS's, at least (6) Capri's, a 360F MG, a lightshow ($20K yipes), and perhaps a dozen other 60's Ricks including 360's, 360/12's, 370/12's and 335's. Also saw a reissue 1997 FG, a 325V59 MG, and a mandolin. The new Ricks all had small headstocks and full width neck inlays. There were no Rick acoustics but there were quite a few basses. Prices on the rarest pieces were high, but I was surprised to see an exceptionally nice Capri MG for around $6K. This was a much better show than last year!

So I guess that was Olivias and CME Randy?

Yep. CME had the 1993, a pair of 360 OS's, and a pair of Capris. Olivia's had the 360F and at least one 360 OS. The other dealers were unfamiliar to me. I forgot to mention a reissue 381 FG. Oddly enough, I didn't see a single 400-series solid-body guitar at the show...

Randy, thanks for the report. Did you note any leftys?

I got stuck trying to finish a work related project and I won't be up there until Monday.

Nope. I didn't see any lefty Ricks. All the Ricks were put together for proper right-handed players. You can go back to sleep now...
