Yeah me, it's just a teaser tho, I haven't plugged it in yet. It is the 500 watt MkII head. I will run it through the PB212 after a nap. I drove down to San Marcos to pickup a Blues Jr I got from craigslist, and met the fellow at GC. I then decided to go in and see what they had going on................


I will be selling my PB250 and B2RE heads, and the Rumble 60, and then maybe sell the 410HLF and get a lighter cab. Stay tuned! I'll post opinion with the cab in a bit. I also have to put a new body on the Strat I built and then sell it. I will post pix with the new body. I made too many little mistakes on the current body! I could live with it, but not a good enough look to sell.

Dane, if you read this, please tell me again what speakers are in the 212?

Well, I had to put the P/J back together as I have left my Rick at church. It has Chromes and I can dial in just about as trebly or bassy as I want! From old school to new school, it all seems to be there. I will try it tomorrow with the 410HLF. The 12's seem to like old school more, I was trying to get old school with an edge, and got it. I like the roundness at the bottom with some edge to punch through, thus my fondness for P/Js!!!

I love my LMKII and the look doesn't bother me at all. They can't all be AC-30's.

It went very well this morning with the 410HLF! I already have a guy that wants to buy the cab, but I can use the PB-212, as it can handle the power. To give an example of my power needs, the LMKII gain was set at 12:00, and the master was at 9:00. Barely idling! The tone settings are a little puzzling. Low at 10:00, Mid Low at 10:00, mid high at 2:30. high at 2:30, VLE at8:00, and the VPF at 9:30. 4003 4-2-5 with switch in the middle, neck vol rolled off a touch, and both tones maxed.

I did not adjust the gain per the manual. It seemed a bit hot for my needs. I did start per the manual with everything at 12, the V pots all the way down, and cranked the gain til the light came on. I started to twiddle from there and ended up with the above settings for nice low end with some punch, at low volume.

I think my experiments with guitar tube amps have heightened my "discernment"!

As long as you get the tone you are after the knob positions don't really matter. You might find things a bit different with other speakers. I usually am set flat with a little bit of VPF (around 8-9:30), and depending on what else I am after I will adjust the VLE to taste.

I missed that one? What cabs are you guys using with these things?

SWR 4x10, but looking to get a 1x15. I'm really not picky with cabs, as long as they don't rattle and have casters I'm good.
