Those of you with "younger eyes", I can't seem to make out what RIC bass Chris Hillman is playing.... a V-63? I can see the walnut ears but not much else.

Great vid! I like the slower tempo, too. I am going to suggest this to my band as we are doing this song already.

Looks like a C64S with the shoes off. The upper horn looks sanded.

This clip is ancient, the C64S wasn't around yet. 4001v63 MG, methinks. See also the (then-) contemporary photo of the three of them from the original Byrds box set.

Looks like a V63 to me too. The headstock is not upside down as the C64 would have.
It sounds great also! Definitely not buried in the mix.

There is a thread down in the Byrds forum about that bass. One of our fellow formites has had that bass in his possession if I remember right.
