Unsold stock, maybe, but not unmolested. Look at the lower screws in the bass side lens. They seem to be cad-plated, pan-head, slotted sheet metal screws, instead of the oval, Phillips head nickel-plated originals. This seems to indicate that the guitar was apart at one time long enough for the screws to get lost or misplaced.

Knowing that, do you think he'd haggle on the price?

Everything's supposed to be negotiable, but if you're going to walk in with $17.5 K cash in hand, I'm sure he'd say, "nice down payment, where's the other $2.5K?".
