That clip is from a Joplin documentary.
After that clip ends, they're sitting and standing around listening to the playback.
The producer is arguing with the band about one particular D chord that Sam or James played.
And Janis (G-d bless her!) says, in effect - Summertime is a singer's song. People are listening to her and no one gives a sh-t how the f---in D chord sounds.
Priceless stuff.
There is also a very sad, touching segment where she is interviewed during her return to Port Arthur about not going to her H.S. prom.
Janis. There was only one. All others pale in comparison. What a stupid, stupid shame.
