Saw it today. I liked it but it had a slow start. Had anyone other than Robert Downey Jr been in the lead role, I don't think I would have cared for it. It was a part made for him methinks.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm interested. I've heard some good things about it. I've been pretty disappointed with a lot of comic book movies lately. I haven't cared for much except for Sin City, 300, (Frank Miller's awesome!) and Batman Begins. I hate it when they make them all cheesy and family friendly, like the Spider Man and Fantastic Four movies. I prefer the dark ones that are a little more stylized.

Racked up over $100,000,000 this weekend. Must be good!
I can't wait to see it. Just need a ride to the theater.
Downey is perfect in my eyes. The man's amazing. And since he's battled with addiction and stuff he'll be able to play Tony's alcoholism right on.

You know you're getting old when you are about to post: "My daughter's 19 year-old boyfriend gave it a 9/10"...
He's a graphic art/computer graphics student so he may be mesmerised by the special effects, although he did mumble that Robert Downey Junior was pretty impressive.

So what is it based on? A comic? Hmm... well, maybe if it will be on TV, if ever, i dunno. I mean, it is strange. Films based on comics or computer games. I've seen movies based on books, and some of them were "not much worse than the books" (but never they were "better than the books"), but most of them were — well, not very good. (And i am kind of afraid of popular movies — i mean, when all around say it is cool, great, brilliant, expectations are quite high, but with my specific — or, as some would say, missing — taste i may be easily disappointed...)
I agree that Downey Jr is cool, but not cool enough for me to be the reason for going to the movie theater to see something (yes, i am lazy). Moreover, i've already had a kind of an experience when i went to see a film just because Peter Falk was in and after i saw the words, "the end", i was, like, "and — what?" No disappointment, just an understanding that the presence of a certain actor in the film (no matter how much i love him) sometimes just isn't enough.
Um, sorry for such a long and silly comment. My brain must be in off position.

i normally cannot sit thru comic book or video inspired games, but Downey was the deciding factor for me.

I actually do want to see this exactly because of Robert Downey, Jr, who I consider to be one of the great actors of my generation.
Seriously.
