Ok here's this weeks.

This was a one off release as far as I know credited to a trio, it did nothing.

The act added two additional members , changed their name and released another single , that did nothing.

But third time lucky as they say, yet another new name and first single went to number 1, rest was History.

Who did they become

I found this one to be the hardest since I have started entering this weekly bit of fun. Even had to play it to my bandmates over the phone. My/our guess is in for better or worse!!

This was not that easy but again either through research or simply knowledge a high % identified that answer I was looking for was The Byrds.

This track was when they were a trio known as The Jet Set mainly Clark, Crosby and McQuinn.
