Any fans of the origianl Alice Cooper Band? Alice, Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunnaway and Neil Smith. Alice was probably the ultimate showman.

I love all Alice Cooper up to and including Raise Your Fist and Yell.

Alice's original band was great. Under all that makeup, he was a pretty normal guy. Now he plays golf with the celebs and does Staples commercials!

Saw them at the Whiskey for the Killer tour! The Guillotine and the whole works!!!

DD's a great bass player. Saw AC twice as a teen.

the original band was HOT! saw them on the billion dollar babies tour,which i think may have been some kind of musical peak for them-excellent! they were all really good players,of course,i esp. enjoyed the bass parts.

Frank Zappa signed these guys for three albums on his record label "Straight Records". Straight Records was eventually purchased by Warner Bros. Records and that gave the band the big label exposure it needed to get the band to the top of their game.

"Schools Out" was one of my favourite songs of the 70's. I have always considered them to be a great band. I kind of wandered away from listening to their music after he released his first solo album "Welcome to My Nightmare". Although I really liked that album, the music that was released immediately after that seemed to pale in comparison to some of his earlier works. I did attend a concert on his "Welcome to My Nightmare" tour and I was suitably impressed by the musicianship that was in evidence. The theatrics though were a bit over the top.

Overall I would say that when he was with the original band they were at their best.

Couldn't really get into Alice Cooper apart from "Department Of Youth".

Must have been my classical/jazz era................

Love it to Death and Killer were by far the best albums IMHO.

The first real band I was in (many year ago) was heavily in Alice Cooper. We had a lead singer who emulated Alice, we did some stage theatrics, and played a lot of Cooper - I'm Eighteen, Caught In A Dream, Ballad Of Dwight Frye, Under My Wheels, Be My Lover, You Drive Me Nervous, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, School's Out, Luney Tune, Hello Hurray, No More Mr. Nice Guy and Big Apple Dreamin'.

We played I'm 18, Under My Wheels, and Caught in a Dream back in the Navy rock band I was in, in 72.

Caught In A Dream is a great rock song.

Yes it is, but I also wish we would have done "Dwight"....... I-I gotta get out of here! I-I-I etc....

I also like Black Juju.

Cold Ethyl from the Nightmare album seems a throwback to the early days.

My band did a version of "Cold Ethyl" for a few years. I've been a fan since the first time I heard "Billion Dollar Babies" and got to meet him in the mid-'80's after one of his shows (I have no idea which tour it was for). He just seemed like a very kind, genuine guy.
