Tough call. I want to say flats, but with a little twisting of the knobs on the bass and/or amp and/or an old dirty set of round wounds...it could be rounds too.

Cool to see Tom playing bass again. And this bass, especially!

I'm gonna say flats. Especially since he has a Hofner that must have flats on it.

I did the Hofner correlation also . Flats on one must be flats on the other . Plus the way he accompanies himself as a singer.....flats make perfect sense . Very good to see him with a RIC :)

Having flats on a RIHS bass, I'd say flats. They're Rotos, whatever they are (1:42). Check out the wall behind the drummer at 3:13 and 3:54. Ricks all over!

"Yeah I'm a loser at the top of my game," - What a line!

I remember reading somewhere that Tom ONLY uses Everly strings. I don't know if they make only rounds, only flats or both, but that's what he uses.

What's so special about Everly strings? I don't know a single person who uses them.

I had never even heard of them - just checked the site. They've got some high profile endorsers; Tom Petty, Aerosmith, and a few newish dudes.

Doesn't say anything about bass usage.

MF has the B-52 bass strings on blowout clearance - wonder if that's because of lack of advertising? I had come across this particular string before, months ago, but can't remember where.
