Does anybody know about this book? It's offered on some book-sites in the net, without description or picture, and most say 'not available in the moment'. Is it a new one?

What's that book on the right? Never seen that (sorry, I'm in central Europe, if that's enough for an apology...). Seems to be one of the 'out of prints'. Or is it still available anywhere?

Peter:

It's called RICkenbacker: Pioneer Of The Electric Guitar by Naoki Ogane [Rittor Music, February 1995], and it's the much-coveted Japanese Rickenbacker bible. However, even though the book is printed in Japanese, the photo captions are in English. Tons of info and photos you won't find in either of the other two Rickenbacker books. And, yes, it's currently out of print and pretty much unavailable, last I heard. An English version has been rumored in the works for years, but thus far it doesn't seem to have materialized.

Rickenbacker Forum resident Tuck Hersey might know more about the book's current status, or what plans, if any, are in the works to rerelease it.

I remember seeing the Steve Howe Guitar Collection book a couple of years ago at a local Barnes & Nobles bookstore. Of course, I promptly checked it for any Ricks. To the beest of my recollection, there was only a '60's 360/12. I think. That must've been it because i didn;t buy it.

Good luck finding the Japanese Rick book. Even the author(?) (Naoki Oghane) is out of them. If you DO find one, JUMP on it. It's a great book.

I have the Steve Howe Guitar Collection book, got it from amazon.co.uk about a year ago. They still have a listing for it but it says temporarily out of stock. It has a two page spread on his RICs including a 1974 4001 FG, 1977 360 MG (with black plastic), 1964 1993 FG (nice!) and late 70'S 360/12 WB MG which was stolen.
