I just realized that I named my other thread wrong, so I think a bunch of people missed these. Also, a new video with the bass in it.

Beautiful bass ! Nice little tune . Are those nylon tape strings on the RIC bass in the video ?

They're the same set of Pyramids that are in those photos. So far I'm pretty happy with them.

Very cool video and great playing.

Notice how the toaster pickup on your C64 is off-center relative to the strings? That makes it 60's authentic!

Wes,

Great bass, great playing, great video, and I like the subtle placement of the 325 in the background on the bass shots - a v59 or a modded c58? I'm sure you've alluded to it before but my memory isn't what it was..

Thanks, it's a C58. I was playing it earlier and set it down on the Orange, then did the bass part so it ended up in the background. I didn't notice it at the time, but when I watched it later I thought it was funny how it just pops up for the bass parts.

Thanks for the tip, Jeff. I didn't even notice the off-center toaster until you mentioned it, cool.

Eek, the D string of my C64 just broke at the tuner while loosening the string. Geez, this set's only been on the bass a week. These Pyramids are expensive, I don't wanna pay $75 for another D string. Thinking about switching to TI's, that's what I've got on all my guitars.

Switch, but also contact Pyramid customer service with your experience and see what they will do.

Will do, thanks for the tip. It's just kind of a bummer because I've only had the bass a week or so and have just got into the groove of playing it.

Wes, it is strange to have a string break like that and at the tuner. Look at the holes on all 4 and see if the one that broke the string has a sharp edge. Not probable but possible.
