not sure of the "correct" way to play it, but it seems firlmy planted in the G minor pent scale. Lots of double stops, jumping to a G major in the D shape for the fast bit....
Hard to explain, fun to play

I don't know of a correct tab for this song, but if you want to learn it and other Beatles songs tne right way, check out Rob Taylor's video series Beatles To A Tee. YCDT is on volume 2, and both guitar parts are shown exactly as the Beatles did them. You can order these videos here: http://www.to-a-tee.tv
David,
you'll find the perfect TAB notations in the Hal Leonard "A Hard Day's Night" music book. These are transcribed straight from the album,in the "Recorded Version Guitar" series!
These are fantastic, i have Sgt Peppers,Rubber Soul,AHDN,Revolver and a Greatest Hits, all from this series.
They are available in most music stores, if not, surely you could order it in!
Great song, always fun to jam on that one! I also have it on DVD, live in Melbourne in 1964.

Lennon doing his best Chuck Berry thing. Funny, every video/film of this live always cuts away from him as soon as the solo starts, even in Melbourne '64 - I would have loved too have seen him playing it through just once...

This has been a longstanding pet peeve of mine that the camera operator never seems to give us a look at anyone's solo...there seems to be a mentality of checking out facial expressions and audience members whenever a solo occurs.
Thanks for posting that JW!
I have the full Melbourne concert on DVD. There's a rather public ridicule of Pete Best by John Lennon during the intro of one of the songs they perform! Not sure which song, but the intro goes a little like this;.......
John Lennon;..."And for our next song, here's one we all know BEST!
He looks over to Paul and George and repeats with a spastic facial expression...
........"We all know BEST"!
A real obvious dig at their former drummer! It was also at this concert that Ringo rejoins the band after Jimmy Nichol filled in for a major part of that tour!
Drummers must have been on Lennons mind that night!!
