In this video, I've tried to replicate the sound of the original track. It's a bit tricky without the thick vocal harmonies, but I think this turned out pretty well. Sadly, the way youtube compresses videos has somewhat garbled the high end of the audio track, and also made the first couple seconds of fuzz bass clip.
I used the Hofner Club for the lower, more rhythmic bass part and the Rickenbacker 4001C64 for the fuzz bass leads. Also, the Rick 325C58 on rhythm guitar, and a hell of a lot of shaker & tambourine.

Great job! I love those open strums on the 325, and the Hofner tone is perfect.

That sounds just about perfect Wes.
I'm doing the same thing...trying to lay down fairly accurate beatle tracks. I'm doing all the 12 string rick stuff. Right now working on "What You're doing".
I have to lay down a scratch vocal to get the timing right, but I really need someone who can sing.
The Hofner sounds great. I'm using a '65 gibson EB0 and the sound is not quite right.
Were those live drums? And what microphone is that? I'm using a CAD M179 condenser on tambourine...

Les, I used a DW copper snare, a tambourine, and some shakers for this track. I'm recording the video with the isight in my laptop, so I can't really move it into the other room to play the full drum kit as my computer is plugged into my external monitor and a bunch of other stuff, making it a pain to move.
I record the audio through a Presonus Firepod into Logic Pro. I use Shure Beta 57's on the guitars and drums and a Blue Bluebird on the percussion/ everything else. Right now I'm working on my band's next album, so I don't have much time to so these videos. I'll probably crank another one out for fun pretty soon though.
