So I've been itching to get more power out of my system. When we do gigs where I use all 4 of my cabs, I start clipping out a bit. I have been running a QSC RMX850 for years but it's just not giving me the overhead I need.

So yesterday I strolled into GC with my rack system in tow and find a manager and start talking. I wanted to trade in my RMX 850 (6 years old) for either the 1450 or 2450. I had a 15% coupon in my pocket from a GC mailer. I was interested in buying one of the floor demo models (not a used/refurbished/trade in model) as it was about $50 less that a new one. Super nice guy...sold me a new one in the box for the price of the demo model AND gave me half of what I paid for the 850 six years ago. He said keep coupon and use it on something else.

I commented to him about the new GC no-deal policy and he said the head managers still have some wiggle room but not much. So I was happy and now know who to go to when I am in there.

Oh, and I surely have enough power to last me a while.

Sometimes you do deal with a very good sales person at GC.

I've gotten to know several good people at GC. The problem is these people don't last long there as they usually find better positions going to work for the manufacturers as sales people and reps. Then I've lose my good contact and hope for another one, I rarely go into GC anymore. I prefer going to a private dealer near me.

The independent dealers here generally only deal in used gear...unless I deal with Strait Music or Hennings, then I'll pay far too much.

So what did you get? the 1450 or the 2450?

Dag! Stereo or bridged? Are you considering face-melting insurance?!

I run 2 cabs out of each side, so i guess that's stereo? i don't know much! plug in and play!

Yup, sounds like stereo. You've got to feel that setup all the way to your marrow! HUH??? WHAT????!!

haven't had a chance to hook it up to any of my cabs yet. we practice tursday but it'll only be running through one 4x10 in the jam room.

That is exactly what happened to me.
The local GC had a great general manager and guitar manager.
Both gone.

I've tried dealing with the new people but they don't follow through on anything.

I go there for strings (they consistently stock D'Addario 0.012-0.052s), picks, and to try out stuff, but the staff has never been enthusiastic, knowledgeable, or encouraging enough to make me want to spend more money there...
