Refinished 4001CS... Part Deux

Post by chucksimms »

I have this posted in 'Rick Appraisals' but then thought this might be a better forum, 'cos it's a bass.
Thinking of selling my 4001CS. It's from the last year they were produced and has been played TONS. After about six years I had a professional refin done in the same colour (the original had gone from brown to black wherever my body had made contact with it). It looks great; I've gigged it a few times since but I'm too uptight to enjoy playing it like I used to. I'm thinking I'd rather sell it and put the money towards a vintage bass or guitar. I would still have my 4001C64 and 4001C64S which give me my Rick vibe.
So... I was thinking about $2500. Does that seem realistic? Thanks!

That price would actually be a steal. Despite the refin, prices for CS basses are through the roof right now!

Hey Chuck!
We've communicated already, but just to make it official, first dibs here please! I do have some very interesting vintage stuff to consider!
