Ha Ha Ha eBay! This is long overdue!

It's unfortunate in some regards. The people selling the bootleg stuff should be the ones being sued, not eBay.

Exactly. The last line of that article says it all.

According to eBay the total value of items sold on its trading platforms in 2007 was nearly $US60 billion.

That is a lot of babysitting to do. Although, it seems when faker auctions of Ric turn up they respond quickly to John Halls requests.

I agree with you, Sean, but perhaps eBay should spend a few million of its billions in annual profit on some more policing..... even if that means employing - heaven help us - people to scan the ads rather than computers!!

I'm with you, Aitch ... had eBay put some more interest ($$$) early on in making sure they ran a 'clean ship', then they probably wouldn't be defending themselves in court.

Hmmm... the line about French auctioneers complaining that ebay is not state-sanctioned is interesting. I guess that we all need French government permission to post on this forum because the online content can be seen by French citizens. Of course, we will also have to ensure all our posts are translated into all the appropriate languages in line with the relevant EU protocol, using a translation service endorsed by the correct committee...... otherwise we will receive notices of our breach of EU directive F371.2A/15 and be liable to a fine of EUR 40 million or 15 years in a French prison....

Not that I have anything against the bureaucratic euro-gits at the EU or any member states!
