Tell me if you've heard this before . . .

I was at my local park yesterday and I find this car that is exactly the same color as my Sea Green bass!

Yes, same park, but this time there was a 4th of July fair with a custom/relic car club holding a rally/contest, and there among the absolutely gorgeous makeovers is this masterfully restored '32 Ford V8 Roadster done in Sea Green. It was a little bluer than my bass, but who's splitting hairs? I invited the owner to my place about a mile away after the rally, and he was kind enough to pose the car for a few shots. Here are the best two:

What type of camera do you use?

Hi Philip,

I use a Nikon 8700 8-meg digital camera. It's one of those "semi-pro" types, not the pocket snapshot kind, but not an SLR (single-lens reflex). It's got a lot of features (most of which I still don't use/understand), but it allows me to take high-res images suitable for publication. I usually shoot on "FINE" resolution which is suitable for color separations (publishing speak) up to a full 8.5"x11" page reproduction without image degradation.

I use Photoshop Elements to "process" my images for posting here. I simply resize the image (a copy so that I retain the high-res original) first to 72dpi, then I reduce the quality of the copy in "save for web" until it gets below the current 300K limit on the Forum postings.

Very nice. I had a 4003S that was the same color (mid blue) as my Dodge Durango. Wish I had the smarts to take a picture of them together.

[mild derailment] I've also noticed that the colors on the new VW Bugs are vintage guitar colors: Seafoam Green, Daphne Blue, Cream, Banana Yellow, Fiesta Red, etc. [/mild derailment]
