Oh yeah? So where are the strings?!

Looks like he took apart a perfectly good 2006 MG 4003 and is selling all of the parts and the carcass. Everything but the strings. We should keep an eye on this and see if it actually sells for more than the sum of the parts:

Looks as though he only has one TRC between the two dismembered Ricks.

By my count this is about the fifth Rick this turkey has disassembled and sold lately as a pile of parts. Kind of makes one want to do the same to him. What really ****** me off was one I saw where he mentioned that the only scratches on the body were a couple he put on it while taking it apart! A class act to be sure.

Unfortunately, it must be lucrative or he wouldn't be doing it.

I looked up a collection of parts from a 2000 620 FG he chopped in the other thread. I missed the tail piece when I did a breakdown but I think the total was somewhere around $1600 with the tail piece. Not a huge profit, but sounds like he may have gotten a bit more than street value for it. But I am sure on average he his making his money back and then some after paypal and ebay fees etc on his average chop job. I wouldn't put forth the effort for the extra couple bucks but, to each their own.

I don't like when people part out Ricks, however it does give some people a chance to get a spare part they might not otherwise find as long as they are willing to pay the $$ for them. I do hate to think that the parts might get sold to someone who would install them on a faker.

Only thing that actually bothers me is selling the jack plate separately from the body. It will almost give a fake identity to another guitar to the untrained Ric enthusiast. (Which was myself before I started reading this forum basically).

They should look at stamping or printing the serial number on the body in my opinion. It is the guitar that gets dated, not the piece of hardware.

My 2 pesos.

Oftentimes, the serial is written inside the electronics cavity, but I agree, the plate should stay with the chassis. Like a VIN number (I know, that's redundant -- a Vehicle Identification Number number).
