Hi All,
I've been registered for a while now and I've been using this forum as a reference to find out about rick basses
I thought it was time I said hello, and thanked you all for the invaluable info!
cheers!
Now, a bit about me..... I'm a self taught amateur guitarist, who started learning in the early 90's then peaked in about '96 when I did my first gig playing rhythm guitar in a band. Since then I was "relieved of duty" from the band, my career took over, then I got engaged etc etc so i've just had the odd strum, once every few months, over the years. During that time (about 4 years back) I bought a second hand P-bass copy cos it was going cheap, but never really learnt to play it.
However, a few months back it all went wrong with the fiancee, and we have gone our seperate ways- and for some strange reason I picked up the guitar / bass again, and I can't get enough of it- I'd even go as far as to say its helped me through my troubles! Although I am very rusty!
I promised myself something special- a "bass for life" if I could afford it, once all the paperwork for my house was sorted out. I wanted a rick very much but always thought i'd end up getting a fender because of the price.
Anyhow, after researching on here I decided to stretch my budget that bit further- and I'm now the proud owner of a 4000 bass. I love the thing to bits, although i don't really deserve it as I'm still a beginner! But if anything, its helping me want to get better!
So hello all, and thanks for all the information on this forum. And if you actually read all of that ^^ and stayed awake, well done
