Another new guy here......

howdy folks.......yes...another new guy....got started on the bass back in 1970...played in several bands while in college where i picked up my first ric bass......it twas a thing of beauty, but alas...graduation came near...i needed money...so i sold it.....didn't pick another bass until 2001...got a rogue "beatle bass"....a few years later a MIA p-bass....but something was missing.......i had to have another ric 4003.....ordered one may 25, 2007...finally got it july 10, 2008....was it worth the wait?.....such a stupid question.....i can't put it down.....my wife thinks i'm nuts....but she loves me....she knew i wouldn't be satisfied until i got the ric so she gave the go ahead....that's about it....

Welcome to the forum Ken and more importantly welcome back to bass playing with the best! When you have a few mayhaps post a few pics???

I have been so lucky that my wife has never gotten in the way of my music. But if she did, she wouldn't have become my wife I guess. I also hold my part of the deal by not asking to break the bank...
Since I've never really been without a Rick I can't say that I know the "something is missing" felling...but I suppose if I lost my Laredo somehow I can imagine what that feels like!

Yeah...I used that line too. "Honest honey, when I get that Rick, I'll be set." Followed by "when I get this 4004 set with single coil pickups, I won't need a new 4003." Follwed by "geee....I sure do miss my old 4003 JG." And on and on and on and on and............
