I orderd and now have gold RIC strap lock posts . I needed chrome . Trade anybody ?

Just roll them around in your fingers for a while. They'll be chrome soon enough.

Either that or apply a buffing wheel to them!

I have a chrome set on a non-Ric bass that has gold hardware. Let me check if they're the same size. If they are we can swap.

Not likely, as nearly every other guitar/bass I've seen uses wood screws, not a machine screws like RIC.

That would settle that, then. Since I've never removed them from a Ric, I never paid attention to what was under there. And I know the chrome set on my non-Rick bass is a wood screw set. Woops.

I wish RIC included the strap latches or whatever they're called with the guitar. The WB I just bought has straplock buttons. Straplocks are $25, and come with buttons. What do I do with the extra buttons? Stick them on a Fender? That won't work, I have a different strap for every guitar, so I'd need more latches, and would end up with even MORE leftover buttons.

Hmm, that reminds me; I've been looking for plain arrow Gretsch knobs without the G, which are only available in Gold. I'll just buy a set and set them to my buffing wheel!

I know what you mean Paul . I have a bag of odd straplock parts . Some are left over from guitars/basses I sold and forgot to remove the posts . Some are From the 7 Rickenbackers that have come and gone from here .

Looks like Gary and I have a trade . Now I wont have to pay RICs shipping fee .

Sounds like you need to find someone who uses one strap for all their instruments and uses the same straplock system. I have a handful of spare black Schaller parts that attach to the strap, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. At least I think I have them somewhere.

What's annoying is that Stew Mac sells the buttons that go on the guitar body separately if you want them, but deosn't do the same for the parts that attach to the strap.

I did some double checking and a pair of Schaller strap locks is actually $14, but still, I'd rather not have extra bits. I might just buy the old style buttons from RIC and install those.
