Another New Guy

Hello all! I am finally back in the Ric fold as of this week. I did have a really nice '73 FireGlo 4001 18 months ago, but an inept repair person did a number on it. The store ended up buying it off me for what I had in it, but I sure missed that bass and have been looking around for another since. But that's a tale for another time.
A little bio - I've been playing since 1968 and have been gigging steadily since the mid 80's. My current assemblage is just under 2 dozen basses that cut a pretty broad swath as far as brands and types but I've never got into Rics until recently. After that 4001 I knew I had to have at least one....(hope the wife doesn't see this)..... Anyway, I'm starting with this one and here it is.
The story - seller had it listed as a '76 4001. I win the auction, get the bass and find out it's really an '86 4003. But when I cleaned it up (I don't think anyone ever wiped it down - ever! it was filthy) it looked to be in excellent condition. After checking with a dealer buddy of mine I found I wasn't snookered pricewise so I decided to keep it. White with B/T, now a nice vintage yellow. I've lurked through here and there are some incredibly nice pieces, but I'm quickly becoming enamored with this one. Used it for the first time this weekend on a couple of gigs and it sounded and played great!! I'm very pleased to add it to my roster.
