Why so few midnight blue?

With Rickenbacker carrying four standard colors in their 330/360 lines (FG, JG, MG and Midnight Blue), I was curious why there appear to be so few out there in MB. I tried to order a MB from a famous online store (rantingly famous), who advertise at least 40 of the 360s in stock in all colors, only to be put on wait-mode which is now 5 months and counting. If I had ordered a special color or feature, I can understand the no-stock, but I thought MB was a standard color. I have also looked at other sites (Pick-of-the-Rics and Elderly) and see only the other three standard colors (and one Blue Boy) available.

Just curious.

Since RIC has no inventory in the warehouse, they are making what dealers order. They aren't forcing unordered colors on dealers. And since Jetglo, Mapleglo and Fireglo are the "big three", some dealers just don't order anything else, even the annual special color, unless you request it.

Unless something has changed, Turquoise is also a standard color you don't often see in stock.

I just checked, Musicians Friend has Midnight Blue 360/6 and 360/12 in stock now.
