Here is a picture of my 360/12 Ebony (Jetglo's traditionally have white pickguards and TRC's) PL (Pre Luthier!)

I couldn't wait to see what this would look like once the luthier has properly attached the black pickguards and TRC to the guitar, so I laid them on top for this picture!

Hope you don't have a dandruff problem there, Bob.

Please bear in mind that things of great value just seem to break when i look at them, never mind disassemble!

Looks sweet, do show when done Rob. I'm the same way with cars, I can just look at one and blow a head gasket or something. Must have angered the car gods in a previous life.

This is a very easy process, Rob - just a matter of loosening the strings, unscrewing six screws (3 from the pickguard, 3 from the TRC), taking off the knobs and the washers underneath them, and taking off the washer below the switch.

I think you should at least give it a shot - if you can't get it back together, then you can bring it to the luthier!

Rob, I can see the 3" score where you slipped with the screwdriver from here!

(I'm posting this now ready for when Rob attempts the surgery).

Can someone take me through the process?

Do I really need to loosen all the strings?

Do the knobs just 'pull off'?

Will I need some kind of a special spanner?

What is a good way to cover grooves in a jetglo headstock made by a slipped screwdriver?

The knobs are held on by tiny screws countersunk in them. Unscew them with a tiny straight blade screwdriver. Don't back the screws all the way out, just enough to remove the knobs. String loosening is necessary to remove the TRC. All the rest of the screws are standard phillips heads. The toggle switch is probably the biggest pain, because there is a special tool to remove it without the danger of scarring it up, so be very careful if using a pair of pliers. Other than that, just like John posted, (he said it all)Good luck, or have your luthier guy do it if you're not comfortable. I know people who are freaked out changing strings, so don't feel bad if you have someone else do it.

Oh, I forgot, when removing the pots, hold on to the back of them to prevent them from spinning and ripping up your wires.
