I'd jump on it before anyone does!

A fretless Scheff with a top like that is not exactly common! I'd jump on it man - those are such cool sounding basses.

The lipstick-like J pickups are certainly unique.

I am working with the seller now. It seems like $1800 is a good deal but I offered a bit less for starters. I hope to have it done today.

I just hope that this pickup configuration is pretty noiseless. These Armstrongs are supposed to cancel each otehr but I would think they need to be a little closer together to succeed at that?

It's mine for $1650. Can't wait to get it!!

Now I can lower the price of my for sale 4003 here for less if anybody is interested.

Wow is all I can say. This bass is awesome. It turns out that it may be very rare. Some at the Lakland forum think it's the only fretless Scheff model, but especially the only with the translucent quilted maple top. The ebony fretboard is soooo smooth and the Armstrong pickups have no hum.

AWESOME!!

Greg, looks like you hit it big time with that one. Best part is it sounds like it fits you and is a joy to play. Can't ask for more than that. Enjoy that puppy! :)
