Being a somewhat newcomer to the rickenbacker family, I havn't had the chance to try out this capability with my 08 mapleglo yet.
Can anybody direct me to where I could buy a replica box or a decent Y-splitter cable?
I believe I saw a website that makes electrical wires/boxes and makes a box designed for the rickenbacker but the name escapes me.

Make sure not to use the two jacks at the same time, a somewhat common error. Full report on your results, please!

Hello again,
Is there any way of building my own little box? I thought somebody may have the knowledge here to direct me to get which electrical parts and how to esemble them. I am able to buy little electrical pieces easily as I have a shop close to me that specializes in that sorta stuff.

You don't really need a box, just a stereo plug to two mono plugs cable.

Where can I find one of those, excluding the internet?

Depending on where you live, a good electronics shop/Radio Shack (not implying they are good!). a stereo shop/dealer, perhaps. Not utilizing the net can make it more difficult these days.

One metal box, two mono Switchcraft jacks, one stereo Switchcraft jack, and hookup wire. Make the stereo jacks' tip and ring go independently to the mono jacks, case grounding. The tip will be the bridge pickup on a bass, the ring will be the neck.

Here's
another thread on the topic, which includes some pictures of my homemade "Chuck-O-Sound" box. It cost me about $20, but also requires a separate TRS cable to connect the box to the guitar.

I bought one at guitar center the other day. Any decent music store will most likely have that type of cable. Not that guitar center is decent.

Cheers
