This is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. Wonderful version of it, too. :D

Man, whatever happened to Midnight Oil? Are they still performing in the Land of Oz? Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.

Goofyfoot,

Midnight Oil called it a day just over four years ago.

Peter Garrett is cabinet minister in the current Oz government, with responsibilities for the arts and the environment. He was a bit of a loose cannon at the last election, suffering from foot-in-mouth syndrome, so they keep him on a tight leash and only wheel him out when they need his star aura. Despite the political gaffs, he strikes me as being way more competent than 95% of his colleagues, and their predecessors. Being intelligent, articulate and impassioned seems to be a handicap in his new chosen profession.

Given his reponsibilities, any Midnight Oil reunion is off the cards. Bummer! :(

Thanks ever so much for that Jeff! Midnight Oil... One of the highlights of the 80s.

Interestingly, last Thursday I was googling didgeridoo and came on links to make your own. Bookmarked. The guy in the video has great circle breathing technique.

This MO song has it all - driving beat, great melody, hooks, and of course the compelling message.

Top band. I was lucky enough to see them on their final US tour. Jim Mogine is a brilliant player. He trotted this same Ric out in Cincinnati:

'Blue Sky Mine' and 'Earth, Sun, Moon' are (for me) their creative high water marks, but I enjoy all of their stuff.
