I learned from my thread under "Rickenbacker Guitars" that Mr. Hall might be able to give me the size of those tiny little screws that hold down the bridge cover on the earlier style bridge (I have a '65 Mapleglo 360/12). And, Mr. Hall, if you have any of those gathering dust in the Rickenbacker store rooms................... please let me know! Price is no object!! Well, it is, but I was going to buy a new bridge cover for $20 just to get the screw(s). Evidently, they don't fit.

the bridge cover screws on modern are 4-40 so the old ones are smaller. they are the same as pickup height screws on old pre 65 450, i would look in good old hardware store like some old not closed yet sears - they used to have big screw section that included extremely small screws. i don't have my guitar handy now so i can't measure it for you.

Do you have one of the screws to measure?

What is the OD of the outside of the threads?
What is the distance between the threads?
What is the length of the screw from beneath the head to the tip of the screw?
What type of head is on the screw?

This could be either a 4-40 or 3-48 X 1/8" long, stainless steel pan head machine screw.

If you bought both boxes, it would only be $12 and change, including shipping. Then you could sell them to all the other vintage Ric owners who lose theirs.

If I buy a box of 100, I'll give them away to anyone on the forum who wants to pay the postage......... Of course, now I can never describe my guitar as 100% original!

Perfection never leaves the dock! That's a boater's saying that also applies to "bristol- condition" guitars, I'm afraid.

It's a #3 screw, don't recall the pitch off the top of my head. If you just need the two for your guitar, call customer service and they'll send you some, no charge.

When I say this, I have no intention of blowing a bunch of sunshine up anyone's skirt, but that's what I call customer service! Anyone want to bet how long you'd wait for the CEO of other American guitar manufacturers to give a reply like that?
