hey folks, does anyone make pick ups that fit rics, besides ric. They seem impossible to get from Ric. They have been temporarily out of stock for years now it seems. My magnets are OOOOlllld. Plus I would like to experiment a bit, and I'm not butchering my beloved already to butchered 330/6, or my toasted 360/6.

I would send them over to Sergio and let him do his magic on them!

Seymour Duncan does as well as a company called GFS. I have never heard any of these and the reviews have been mixed, but there are a few available.

I would stay far away from anything non-RIC. I love messing with my fenders & gibsons, but for a Rick the absolute best is original RIC parts. If you look around the internet a little more, or stick around on this site I'm sure you'll be able to find a set.

I've got 4 high gains off of 2005 Ricks in perfect condition. PM me if interested.

From what I understand, the GFS pickups are not direct replacements and require a little modification. I've read mixed reviews of the Seymour Duncan custom shop guitar pickups, and pretty much unfavorable opinions of their standard bass pickups.

Every review I have read on Sergios pickup work has been favorable and reasonable, and might be worth checking out.

I hope RIC has plans to stock up on their pickups as their backlog catches up, as I'm sick of seeing these guys on Ebay with their 500 dollar pair of toasters they bought brand new the second they became available.

Lastly, I would strongly recommend selling your guitar before cutting up holes in it to fit other pickups, as this will ruin its value, and probably not solve your problem. Good luck.

First thanks guys, and second let me be clear, lest you think I am a madman, I WOULD NEVER CUT HOLES IN A RIC! My 330 came to me with, and I shudder, les paul style humbuckers and huge holes in the body and, neck base. Took a lot of work to make it somewhat right. it currently sports a P90 and a Hi Gain, And of course the 360 has been through a fire, it sports a 66 toaster in the bridge and a singed 66 toaster in the neck. I had a ric humbucker in the bridge but it melted in the fire. I am just looking for something that fits and sounds good for the 360 because I want to avoid routing a slot for the neck position for a hi gain or a toaster with long pole pieces. The neck pickup is dead. Ric is out of stock on everything due to production back logs. I will just wait and find a neck toaster, but Thanks you guys.

I've mentioned this before, but Sérgio Silva built a pair of overwound toaster coils for me, at 14K and 15K respectively. They sound even better than the 12K toasters on my six strings, in the bridge position. The overwound toasters have a warmer more present sound, especially when overdriven.

I was actually interested in trying out the GFS drop in Dynasonic style pickup for my Ricks, since I'm a complete Dynasonic nut when it comes to the pickups in my Gretsches. They are quite the "juicy" pickup, as Paul W has put it. I would love to put a Dynasonic into the bridge position of one of my Ricks, so long as I didn't have to rout anything. The only thing about the GFS Dynasonic clone that I don't like is that it has fixed, rather than adjustable polepieces.

When I've A-B'd my Overwound toaster quipped Ricks next to my Dynasonic-equipped Gretsches, the output from the Dynasonics is just a bit tastier, so I'd like to try one out on a Rick.
