This is a collaboration with lyricist Craig Wolff, just in time for Halloween.

Dead Sexy
Walking through the fog on Halloween night
By the old graveyard in the moonlight
My girlfriend and I were starting to flirt
When an undead hand shot up through the dirt
Man oh man, she sure did put up a fight
But that zombie gave my girlfriend such a horrible bite
Now she's dead sexy
My little zombie lady's
Dead sexy
My brain eatin' baby's
Dead sexy
Ooo ahh
She's hotter than Hell and truth be told
She's dead sexy now that her blood runs cold
It was just the other day I gave her my ring
Fingers rotting off won't change a thing
I made a promise I intend to keep
But I'm locking the door when I go to sleep
She tries to bite and it's awful risky
But it's all sorts of fun when I'm feelin' frisky
'Cause she's dead sexy
My brain eatin' baby's
Dead sexy
My little zombie lady's
Dead sexy
Ooo ahh
She's hotter than Hell, she's frightfully bold
She's dead sexy now that her blood runs cold
All those Romero Romeos they want to take what they see
But before they do
They gotta get through
My shotgun and me
All those Romero Romeos wanna get what they see
But before they do
They gotta get through
My flamethrower
She's dead sexy
My little zombie lady's
Dead sexy
My brain eatin' baby's
Dead sexy
Ooo ahh
She's hotter than Hell and except for the mold
She's dead sexy now that her blood runs cold

Re: Dead Sexy
That was very enjoyable! I especially like the clever reference to George Romero.

Re: Dead Sexy
Thanks Mark and Les. But she's dead to me now...
Funny, on a lot of songwriting sites I posted this on, people keep attributing the opening chord progression to Brian Setzer, because of "Stray Cat Strut" by Stray Cats. And to my amazement, they thought the pattern belonged to him. But that descending pattern has been in so many songs..."Hit the Road Jack", "Walk Don't Run", countless songs by Louis Jordan, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, even Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Sometimes our memories are short.
But it DOES sound a lot like Stray Cat Strut...

Re: Dead Sexy
THAT'S why I suddenly started playing "Stray Cat Strut" on my geetar the other day! Seriously, I wondered why I would pull that out of nowhere. If I start playing something from the 80s, it's usually an REM or Church song, which are pretty ingrained in my brain by now. But I hadn't heard or thought about SCS in many years, and couldn't understand why it suddenly came to mind. Mystery solved.
And, by the way, I don't think rock music is really about originality. As Don Henley--someone who I generally do not quote--once said, rock music requires a high tolerance for repetition. I assume he meant that in a good way.
FWIW, I think your song is more clever than SCS.

Re: Dead Sexy
Thanks Mark and Kira.
This is sort of a Partidge Family thing...I got my 12 year old daughter Lucy to play the sax, and my 14 year old daughter Madeline to play the violin and the Zombette. They are receiving an unorthodox upbringing, filled with sax and violins.
