I buy mine directly from the RIC site, three sets at a time. I have a set of un-used Pyramids in my case ( very over-priced in my opinion ), but I've always stuck to the factory Rickenbacker guage with good luck. Paul W. advised me against Pyramids, and said if I wanted flats to go with T-I. So far the Rickenbacker factory strings work well for me....
Good luck !

Recently ordered six sets of 6's and one set of 12's from Chris @ Pick of the Ricks. Same price as RIC's Boutique. Shipping is less and quicker, plus I escape paying CA state tax. Priority shipping box got here from Jersey in 36 hours. Peace, out.....G-foot.

I bought Curt Mangum strings from Pick of The Ricks for $11.95 a set. Good deal. I want to try Pyramids just to say I tried them, but they are so damned expensive.

Bob: With the adjustments that you need to make to your instrument, in addition to the cost, I don't think that you will be selling yourself short. I used to feel the same way. They performed well on my bass but I was not happy with them on my 12 string.
