I saw one for sale on the 'Bay and the seller states, 'Extremely rare, only 1,000 made. So I politely contacted him and told him to read his 'Certificate of Authenticity' that clearly states the number of the model 'of 2,000 issued. ' He emails me back, in a rather hostile manner stating, 'Yeah, right wise guy, this is one of 1,000.' My JL certificate clearly states I have number 104 of 2,000. Did they issue 1,000 short scale and 1,000 long scale guitars? I've a mind to report this guy to Ebay for misrepresentation, but it's such a trivial matter I let it go. The stuff people try to get away with on Ebay amazes me !
Any input?????

Looks like you fell into the wrong on this one.

Well, what d' ya know....he took it off Ebay after I told him there were 2,000 instead of his statement of 'rare, only 1,000 made'............If he had the Certificate of Authenticity, he wouldn't have made that ridiculous statement. Too bad he had to be such a d***head about the whole thing when I was trying to politely point out that fact to him.

I think what Nick means is that he could still claim it was one of xxx number of a specific model.

For example, if the guitar is a short-scale 325JL, it is one of 953...of 2000.

I guess mine is a 355JL then, despite the small size, it still seems to be a 3/4 scale guitar. This is proving to be really interesting !

If it's a 355 then it isn't a short scale, but rather a long scale, on a fairly small body.

it should measure 24.75 (or close to it) inches from the nut to the bridge.

It's a 355JL then, I measured 24.5 +/- from the nut to the bridge...

Not a problem! Those a great guitars btw! I played a 350 for a short while in a music store and was absolutely in love with it!
