Oh snap! This hurricane looks like it's going to tear my area apart!

Anyone else live around the path of this?

I hope it's not so bad Jake and that you get through it just fine.

Prepare now Jake,

I'm already taking precautions in case Hanna comes to visit us in Fla.

I've been though a few hurricanes myself, not a fun thing.

Be safe, keep us posted if you can.

Best of luck Jake and all others in the path. Having grown up in SoFla, I've experienced many of those nasty buggers
the last one being Andrew.......unless you've been through one you have NO idea of what it is like. I will say a prayer for you all!!!

Thanks everyone. I'm sure you guys know, but I'm in Texas right now. My family and I plan to stay here 'til the worst is over.

This is nasty... We've been getting torrential downpours and thunderstorms as Gustav's rain bands push into SW Fl. and we are hundreds of miles from this thing. Tomorrow is going to be a crummy day here. My prayers are with the folks up on the northern gulf coast. Looks like an Atlantic basin bowling ally Hannah and behind her more swirling devils coming off the coast of Africa.

Not a bad idea.

I've got my truck packed and ready to go just in case. However, right now I'm staying put. All of my family in New Orleans metro area and the Mississippi Gulf Coast have already left. One cousin and his family are on their way to Anderson, SC; another is staying with one of my sisters in Memphis. Most of the others are in central Mississippi.

Hey Jake, glad to hear you and your family are out of the area. We are too, staying with a friend of my wife's over in NAS Pensacola. Guess we'll know the answers in a day or two, just remember the important thing is you and your family--the rest can be dealt with.

Take care, hopefully things will look better by week's end.

This is a very good "all in one" hurricane info website (trust me).
