Rickenbacker pickup cover assembly

hello all,

Just took off my pickup cover (what a pain) and while I was in the process of putting it back together I lost one of the rubber washers that go inbetween the spring and the bottom of the assembly.

I put the first washer on the side with the ground wire just in case but,
Do the washers have anything to do with electricity? If I plug in and play, will I somehow be electrocuted?

Electrocuted, by a guitar with no power supply?

Matt, no. Worse that would happen is more hum. I myself think the washers are to aid putting the assembly together, to hold the spring on the screw while trying to get the screws into the baseplate.
