Pot won't fit the hole

I'm converting a project guitar from a toggle/volume/tone to jazz bass style wiring. My problem is that the hole where the toggle used to be is too big for the pot. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem with out wood working involved?

Thanks!,

Cole

Your easiest fix would be to use a piece of hardwood dowel, slightly larger than the hole and tapered to fit in. Glue it in using wood glue, then redrill the hole to the size needed. The knob on the pot should cover the ring of wood not drilled.

You can make a bushing out of some vinyl or rubber hose. It is easy to cut and you can just slip it on the threaded portion of the pot. Also it is easily reversable.
