A track I did for fun,..this is a very rough mix, my guitar playing is a bit rusty. Just came through a terrible marriage and divorce, and guitar playing was considered EVIL there. Im getting back to it. And Happy/Free At Last!
Like I said this is a VERY rough mix, I need to redo some thing's. But, it's a start.

I did keep playing during that time, did some teaching also. Just not as much playing time as I would have liked. I am also working on a version of 'And Your Bird Can Sing' right now. Im having trouble nailing that thick, gutsy, overdriven sound that George had gotten. Maybe I need a Gibson SG? Or a Casino? I wish I could.

I like to do beatles tracks too. Mostly rick 12 string ones.
I bought a Mapex mars drum kit for session players to use in my studio, but
I am trying to learn drums myself in spare time. I practice about an hour a day.
I'll do "day tripper" as soon as I can do the fills! Before I used a drum machine.

What gear did you use on that recording?

You should get both! CAn't go wrong with an SG!

I used a GreTsch Country Gentlman, a GreTsch G5122, an Epiphone Viola Beatle Bass.
The Guitar's were recorded with mics, the Bass I recorded direct. Used a Line 6 Spider III
for the guitars. Drums were an Alesis SR-18. A Roland Synth for the organ.
All recorded on a Tascam 2488 Multitrack. I am currently working on a final mix of this song
with effect's added for a hopefully better sounding mix.
I am currently recording a version of 'And Your Bird Can Sing', it is coming along pretty well.
Just haveing trouble nailing that guitar sound. I just purchased a Vox AC30 I cannot wait to use it.
Les I did hear your version of 'What your Doing?' I really enjoyed it. I loved the 12 string work
on there, sounded great. I wish I could get a 12 string.

Wow, Country gentleman and AC-30! Some good sounds for sure.
Looking forward to hearing "And your bird can sing". I just listened
to the anthology take in the car a couple days ago...you know the one
where they start laughing during the overdub.

No, it isn't. It's Paul & George doing a duet on their Casinos. I've heard that it is possible for a guitarist to play both parts. But it's much easier to do it as a duet. I'd love to be in a band that covers this song.

Yeah jim you're right. I checked on it. At least on the album version. The other version with the rick12
(heard on analogy) is the one that sounds kinda slidy. I like that version a lot, even though it wasn't used.
