Does anyone remember "It's Good News Week" without looking it up?

I am not sure if this song from 1965 even made it to the charts in North America but I have a strong memory of it being played on the radio in Canada at that time. A bit of a political statement which is consistent with the songs of the day.

If anyone has it to share, it would be nice to hear it again.

Allegedly Jimmy Page played on this, produced by Jonathan King who later was prosecuted for child molestation.

The group made 5 singles in total but could not repeat the success of this classic which made number 5 in UK.

I never knew about Jimmy Page playing on this track, Roy. I would dearly love to see a list of his credits. It must be staggering.

In passing, "Everyone's Gone To The Moon" was not too shabby either.

When I met Jimmy Page through my manager in London in 1964 or 1965 (can't remember exactly when now) he was a session player. He did work for artists on the Immediate lable and also for Decca I believe.

He did a ton of work for up and coming artists so it would not surprise me if he was on this one.

He also worked for the Pye label, too. There are a couple of very good CD compilations of his sessions there...

Seems that the first has been released again early this year and the second will be in the shops shortly. I bought them in 2003 - 2004 and both are very good: great sound, great british bands from the Pye catalogue and fabulous liner notes.

I actually saw them at an RAF base in Lincolnshire at the time it was a hit. RAF Waddington used to get some good turns on a Saturday night. I remember seeing Wayne Fontana there as well in the 60s, before he went barmy.

Yes was played here in MA, and I remember it pretty well without hearing it. My little city AM radio station was pretty cool back then, they even played The Beatles about a year before they hit although I don't remember it. I didn't become a serious radio listener until they broke here. I think I remember reading that one of the DJ's had actually gone to Liverpool or at least to England to see this new English sensation hence their being played on WORC 1310, it is now a Spanish station.

I have always loved that song also and remember it well. I actually heard it the other day on the 60's channel on XM Satellite in my car.
