Bert: I have read that John Lennon played his 325/12 in 1964 on Dutch Television. Also, Roger McGuin played his 370/12 on Dutch Television in 1971. Are these two events ever discussed in reference to Rickenbacker guitars in the Netherlands?

I myself never heard any mentioning of this Peter. And a google search does not deliver anything with televisie (and some other dutch words I tried) and before mentioned artists and the word Rickenbacker in one sentence.
Rickenbacker is more or less in the same position over here as in Germany I guess. Though most guitarists do know what a Rickenbacker is they are not exactly the talk of the town or the weapon of choice over here. Most bass players do have a symphaty for the brand though not many really play them.

I may have found something here: it looks like an awful lot of chrome on the head (do I see slots too?) and I don't see an accent tailpiece... it's hard to say.

That does look like his 325/12, but both of those songs are records.

About three minutes into part two you will clearly see a trapeze tailpiece 8)

They''re not known outside Holland, but I've always enjoyed the Dukes version of the Easybeats mid 60s classic "Friday on my mind", complete with RM Ricky 12, by the looks. Good, good sounds.

Of course, half of the song writing team of the Easybeats (Harry Vanda) was Dutch born too!

The last couple of years I see more Rickenbacker guitars and basses onstage, than like ten years ago. Most of 'm basses of course.

It sounds they're playing in semi-earnest, amplified, along with a recording for the audience. They did that for television sometimes.
