1960s Rick copies by Maton

Maton, the Australian guitar manufacturers, made a Rick 12 string (and 6 string as well) copy briefly during the 1960s beat boom. I presume it was of fairly high build quality given their reputation, especially in comparison to some other 1960s (and later) Asian copies.

Does anyone know about their history, how these instruments play, and what they now sell for? Are they collectable in OZ? Does anyone of you own one? ('fess up now!)

Damn awful headstock & tailpiece by the way, the rest's a straight steal by the looks...

Maton did some whacky Fender copies as well. I never though of these as their "golden moments". Their original guitars in the early 60's are kind of cool - they have a Teisco look but are built to a much higher standard, something that doesn't always hold for Maton...
