Re: Rickenbackers for sale in Germany
back to topic!
There is a certain selection of Rick basses that have been on eBay like forever. Prices range from 1800€ to 2400€, the seller is located in Bavaria. Still, I think there is a reason why these have been around for ages - in my opinion they're massively overpriced, even for German standards.
I think a reasonable price for a used, non-vintage Rickenbacker 4003 bass in Germany is 1200€-1500€ depending on condition and accessories, e.g. OHSC. The problem is that it is difficult to get them at this price via eBay, so you should check out local newspapers and classified ads and also look for UK platforms as someone mentioned earlier in the thread. Check out any sources on a daily basis: Most Ricks will be gone in a day or two if the price is reasonable. I acquired my baby a few days ago. It had been in a store for a few days only, I reserved it as soon as I knew it existed and in the meantime five people wanted to buy it.
What do my German fellows think about pricing?

Not german, but it's the market where I sell "stuff".BlueHelmet wrote:What do my German fellows think about pricing?
I agree with checking UK sources - got my first Ric that way. It's definitely worth keeping an eye on eBay.co.uk.
New prices in Germany are not that much different than in Holland.
I kind of only check UK and US for 2nd hand, so don't know the level of quality offered 2nd hand in the german market.

Re: Rickenbackers for sale in Germany
I think the seller you mean is **Mr.TambourineMan** located in Fürth/ Bavaria. Indeed he has a lot of Ricks - mostly used ones - offered all year. Some of them go quick and others hang around for months. I think with the Euro going down again these days the prices are still at top of the range but getting more reasonable for european prices. Considering low Euro, shipping costs, VAT and customs, you get quite near to their prices compared to buying in US. They stick firm to their prices; once I asked for that Mapleglo 360/12V64 - they would not drop the price. A friend of mine bought a bass from them a year ago, he was quite satisfied with their performance.BlueHelmet wrote: ... the seller is located in Bavaria. Sometimes you see new ones in different shops for astronomic prices, but I don't know about warranty conditions, as the official RIC distributor for Germany seems to be an agency called Peerpro linked to Casale Bauer (for Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia).
As Werner said, if you want a Rick in Germany you have to watch the whole market.... and of course stay around here
