The Very Latest ICBM - Original Recording

Post by winston »

Before Howard left for the land of "down under" we managed to pull off another miracle of modern science by two old geezers. Another recording. This time however, it is an original of mine that I wrote in December of 1980 along with a few other songs that still make me very sad when I play them.

I would like to dedicate this song to John Lennon. I loved his simple but effective writing style. Almost without exception each song he wrote was from the heart.

The track features my 4003 Rickenbacker bass and my Epiphone Les Paul on rhythm. Aitch provided the very effective driving tambourine on this track. My "Blackie" which is in fact an ancient and well used Squier (with a few modifications), was used for lead.

It is very a very stripped down recording, no magic tricks, no outboard effects and no special studio effects. I hope you like it.

Note: Like all ICBM recordings they need to be listened to about as loud as you can stand it to be fully appreciated............ :D I don't know why they are that way btw.

Any Time At All

Thanks for the shortcut Peter.

A great job, ICBM. Lennon would have loved this one.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Great job Brian and Aitch! :D I love the Badfinger-like style to the song.

Thanks for the great comments everyone.

We had fun recording the two songs we did togther this year and it was great to have Aitch visit again. That's what it is all about really. Two good friends enjoying the process of making some music. :D

Breaking News

ICBM, the forums very own version of Spinal Tap (yet another band that does not exist) is (g a s p) adding a new member to its roster.............this time of all things an American born bass player.

Yes that's right folks Aitch and I have succumbed to enormous pressure and added a REAL bass player. We are doing away with the aspirations of that guitar shredding old geezer who has a go on bass every now and then to be a real bass player. I don't know why he thought he could do both jobs anyway.

Joey Vasco for some strange reason must have lost his mind and as a result has agreed to join us.........in our insanity. So we have changed the name of ICBM to ICBM (Inter Continental Band Members). Very clever eh?

Don't look for any other major changes unless we manage to find a real drummer who wants to join us on our recording project.........The Off White Album.

Now that would be a major change. Please don't hold your breath. Right move along now! There's nothing to be seen here. Form a queue to the left for tickets to ICBM's - Blabby Road sessions............ where we pay you to listen. The Off White Album should be finished in about ten years the way we are going about things.

The line up for musicians is on the right Scotty...............don't bump Boy George as you go by he's a bit fragile today. He can't seem to find a band to play with.
