Avatars

I thought it would be a great idea if everyone had some sort of avatar, as that space to the right looks awfully blank without one. For those of you who do not have an avatar, why not? Is it because you have trouble getting to make an image small enough and have it look good? Or..... ? Let me know. :D

Jeff, do you know how to take down the file size on animated gifs? I made some pretty cool ones but they're way over the limit for avatar upload.

these are examples which are 376kb and 76kb, respectively.

Sorry, that's out of my league. I have not done any video work.

I saved the johnpatti one and will experiment! :D

I can make it fit but I lose the animation! Anybody else here know how? Paging Brian Crisman!!!

I've done more video than photo. These are done with QT Pro and GifBuilder, super easy. Export a few seconds as image sequence at about 6 fps and drop it into GifBuilder.
The revolution one was done with a poster palette of 6 colors, hence the smaller file size. But still way too big
here's one of Heather from "Let It Be":

your new avatar is so dashing, yet cuddly!

From the "Revolution" film/video, first seen on the David Frost show here in the States. I think that's an expression that only a few people normally ever saw. You have to watch carefully because that's all there is of it. It scares me, too, that's why I like it

What, this one? 8)

Someone else had posted it, I just borrowed it so I had nothing to do with making it fit.

Maybe some people have those perfectly clear avatars that you just can't see.

Erm, well I wasn't going to be the one to mention it, but dear little Snuggles appears to be, umm... how to put this delicately ... a little bit, ah, preoccupied.

The 'meanings' of Avatars are in the mind of the beholder....
