Spotted on Talk Bass.
Doesn't pretend to be a Ric, but has most of the design features!

Wee wuz talking about this 'un a coupla months ago. Aghast at the bad ugly vibe. The shape is eh, OK, but EVERY nice detail has been replaced with the ugliest possible option...

Just my humble opinion, but instruments that copy RIC designs are almost not even worth mentioning. The expose of these instruments on forums sort of gives them free advertising.

Joey, I agree, but I think a thread on Rick clones (with photos) might be educational to most Forumites. This one, however, is not really a Rick clone, it just has the large horn in common with our preferred design. But perhaps a discussion of "how to tell a faker" with instructional photos would be handy. I'm sure there have been several Forumites that have been stung in the past, and perhaps more in the future. What say ye, bassmod?

I think that is a very good point Paul. A thread specifically on 'how to spot a faker and not get burned' would be very educational!

With pictures illustrating the points being discussed.

Paul, I totally agree with you. There are design infringers like the one in Ian's post and then there are the ones with sellers that will try to fool some people into thinking their faker is real.

Those are the ones you really have to watch out for - The ones passing off fakes ones as genuine.

Copies like this one are the type that people new to Ricks need to learn about so they don't get burned!

Excatly. it looks like a combination between a RIC and a Ibanez Iceman bass.
