Anybody Write New Blues?

I'll go out on a limb here and post a link to a video that was shot at the Kansas City Songwriters' Circle back in January of '08. The song is mine. I have to say that at the time, it was a brand new song, without much time to practice it. So it's a little rough around the edges.

Where the Blue Water Shines

Jim, how nice to see you in action! Bravo! Looks like you enjoyed yourself and certainly did a bang-up job of it. :D

This is the first song I ever wrote that I decided not to throw away. It's just a demo with fake drums and sloppy lead playing, but it fits into a chord progression I fell in love with while listening to some Freddie King.

Don't think the lyrics/vocal performance/guitar fits into the Blues genre very well, but it has an organ!

I listened to "Where The Blue Water shines" and I really enjoyed it! Made me long for stage once more, but I fear that's still far off with the way things are going!

You've got a knack for that little slide thing don't ya!! I'm still learning, and some people wish I'd stop!

I mostly hack around with slide guitar. Practically everything I do in that style is played in Spanish tuning (DGDGBD). I've played a lot of banjo over the years , so I can find the notes in that tuning on the guitar pretty easily.
